Telekom wins German Sustainability Award
11.2023: Deutsche Telekom wins the German Sustainability Award, setting real standards for honest and comprehensible commitment. The photos were taken in the world's largest field and wildflower logo "Magenta Blossom", created by the start-up GEOXIP.
Melanie Kubin-Hardewig (Vice President Group Corporate Responsibility at Deutsche Telekom) writes about this on LinkedIn:
"A prize for us, a win for everyone! We did it! We have won a prize. But it's more than just a prize. Because the 16th #DeutscheNachhaltigkeitspreis is not only Germany's most prestigious award for exemplary ecological and social achievements - for us it is a special confirmation of our ongoing commitment to #sustainability in the #telecommunications sector. It is THE great recognition for our highly committed Magenta team and their tireless work. Also, this award is a joint award to our customers who recognize and use our many #sustainability initiatives and products. All of this is the reason why we are proud to call ourselves the most sustainable telecommunications company in Germany. But resting on our laurels has never been our strength, so we keep going. Because we believe in our path. The German Sustainability Award is an important prize for us and a big win for everyone. We won't stop.
The jury recognized our work in the following categories:
1. society: in the areas of digital access, education, data protection and consumer protection
2. climate: climate-friendly operation, carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions
3. resources: circular economy/circular solutions

Sustainable biomass permanently binds CO2 and nitrogen
Deutsche Telekom's sustainability project is being scientifically supported by the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences. Further exciting and reliable results on field advertising can be expected here. After mowing, the biomass of a square meter is determined. For this purpose, the collected wild plants (above ground in this case) are BIO-forensically examined.
